If you are in Atlanta for a really quick trip these are a few places you MUST visit! See the best of Atlanta with the time you have in hand, this is what I did:

In Atlanta for the weekend? No problem, manage your time and have fun visiting the most exciting places in town. Here is all the info you´re going to need, from my very own experience traveling to Atlanta on the 4th of July weekend:

-Ponce City Market: This was my favorite by far. Built in 1925 The Sears Showroom building has a fascinating background story, from being a retail place and warehouse to transforming into a City Hall and then becoming Ponce City Market. Located in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood along the Atlanta BeltLine, PCM is a thriving spot for residents and visitors to gather, work, and play.

On their website they emphasize that Ponce City Market was restored “to move Atlanta forward while maintaining and emphasizing the city’s unique history and culture” and you can feel that from the moment you set foot in. It takes you to another era while offering everything you need for an amazing day out, craft shops, unique restaurants, coffee shops, bars, breweries, bakeries, and more!

Perfect for: A date, a fun day with friends, family gatherings.

-SixFlags Over Georgia: Regardless of the summer heat we had an amazing time at SixFlags Over Georgia. It's the perfect plan to enjoy with friends and family, giving the best time to your inner child.

Things to remember:

  • Bring your tumblers and cups, the park has hydration stations to refill the times you need it.

  • If you are planning to visit in the summer -like me- try to find fresh UV clothes to wear, as well as a hat or cap, and very important, sunscreen!

  • Arrive the earliest you can to the park, they have countless attractions to enjoy!

  • Prices: Annual Memberships Start at $6.99/mo, Seasonal Pass starts at $79.99 and a One-Day Ticket is currently at $39.99.

-Georgia Aquarium: Visiting the aquarium was a beautiful experience -although as an animal lover I don't support caging animals for entertainment- and I was pretty skeptical at the beginning of the tour, in the end, I was content to see that all species inside were well cared for and loved. I think it's a nice experience to have once in a lifetime.

My tip: If you want to visit please wear your comfiest shoes, you will walk for hours!

-The High Museum of Art: This one certainly is one of Atlanta´s gems. From its imposing architecture to its beautiful interiors, designed by Richard Meier. You get the feeling of being inspired, awakened, and curious about everything displayed inside. It has a lovely souvenir store full of creative items, a coffee shop, and countless activities to offer.

General Admission is $16.50 and children under 6yo get a free pass!
